Drastic plan to relocate Port Beach buildings to stop them crumbling into the ocean

Buildings on North Fremantle’s battered Port Beach may have to be moved significantly inland in coming years to save larges stretches of the Perth coastline from the advancing ocean.

The questions that should be raised are:

1. Can we engineer ourselves out of the growing risk of increased storm activity?
2. Should these buildings have been allowed there in the first place?
